Our outing this year was excellent!  We took a group picture that can be viewed below.  Click on the picture to see and download the full sized image.

Dates: May 2-4, 2008.  Check in begins at 4pm.  An important orientation is held at 8:15pm.

Location: Camp Surf is located in Imperial Beach, CA, just south of San Diego right on the beach.  Their address is 560 Silver Strand Blvd., Imperial Beach, CA.  The camp can be reached at 619.423.5850 or in an emergency, 619.316.7637.

Description: Get ready to hang 10 as you camp on the beach.  This event is very popular so be sure to register early.  Imperial Beach is a true beach town, so stores and supplies are nearby though we recommend bringing what you may need.

Activities: The camp is situated along a deserted section of beach.  We generally have the beach all to ourselves.  Many participate in traditional beach activities.  The camp also provides crafts, a rock climbing wall and  archery.  The highlight is the surfing and body boarding.  The camp provides surfboards and more importantly, surfing lessons.  There are many certified lifeguards on duty during surfing hours along with instructors in the water to assist with your surfing technique.

Lodging: Tribes are assigned to cabins which are located just a stones throw from the ocean.  The sides on the cabins fold up for those that want to take in the ocean air.  There are bathroom facilities near the cabins.

Food: Food is provided, with the exception of Friday night.  There are nearby restaurants that are within walking distance.  You can expect the food provided to be quite good.

Cell Coverage: The camp is located down the coast from San Diego in a large city.  Therefore, most tribes report no problems with reception.
